Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Kompass, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Description of service
Kompass is a personal finance management application that helps you track spending, manage budgets, forecast cash flow, and understand your financial picture. Kompass is not a bank, financial advisor, or investment service.
Account registration and security
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
Free and Pro tiers
Kompass offers a Free tier and a Pro tier with additional features. Feature availability for each tier is described on our Pricing page and may change with reasonable notice. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days in advance.
Payment and billing
Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel at any time. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first Pro subscription payment. Refund requests should be sent to [email protected].
Cancellation
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from Settings. Upon cancellation, your account reverts to the Free tier. Your historical data is preserved unless you request account deletion.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Kompass for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the service
- Interfere with the operation of the service
Data ownership
Your financial data belongs to you. Kompass claims no ownership over the data you import or sync. You may export your data at any time.
Disclaimers
Kompass provides financial tracking tools, not financial advice. We are not a bank and your funds are not FDIC-insured through Kompass. Forecasts and recommendations are estimates based on your data and should not be treated as guarantees.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kompass shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email with at least 30 days notice before taking effect.
